What is it?

The latest MU-X is a facelifted version of Isuzu’s established SUV, positioned as a versatile option for families and adventurers alike. It builds on the reputation of bold styling and comfort, while adding intelligent driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition. These refinements place the MU-X firmly in the competitive large SUV segment, offering a more connected and confidence‑inspiring drive.

Interior:

Inside, the ONYX XT derivatives now feature a dedicated USB port integrated with the stereo camera system, enhancing connectivity. Premium features such as the nine‑inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto remain standard, alongside a seven‑inch multi‑information display. Red ambient lighting continues to distinguish the ONYX XT, while the overall cabin retains its emphasis on comfort and practicality.

Exterior:

Externally, the MU-X maintains its bold stance but introduces added convenience. All models now include Headlamp Welcome Lights, which illuminate when the vehicle is unlocked, improving safety in low‑light conditions. The ONYX XT keeps its gloss black accents and exclusive badging, ensuring it stands out at the top of the range.

Engine:

The powertrain options remain familiar. The 1.9‑litre turbodiesel engine has been refined for smoother delivery and improved efficiency, though outputs stay at 110kW and 350Nm. The 3‑litre engine continues unchanged, producing 140kW and 450Nm. Both engines are paired with a six‑speed automatic transmission, with 4x2 and 4x4 options available.

Price:

Isuzu has not yet detailed the final South African pricing for the 2026 MU-X
