Alfa Romeo Concorso returns to Johannesburg

A striking collection of Alfa Romeo vehicles, spanning immaculate classics to the latest performance models, will gather at Modderfontein Bird & Sculpture Park on Sunday 20 September for the 2026 Concorso d’Eleganza.

26 Alfa Con1

Organised by the Alfa Romeo Club of South Africa (ARCSA), the event has become a highlight of the local calendar, celebrating Italian design, motorsport heritage and the passion of South Africa’s Alfisti.

This year’s edition will pay special tribute to 60 years of the timeless Duetto Spider, alongside a multitude of other classics that showcase the marque’s expressive design and driver‑focused engineering. Modern models will also be on display, including the new Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce and the high‑performance Stelvio Quadrifoglio, demonstrating how the brand’s distinctive character continues to evolve while remaining true to its roots.

The Concorso is not only about the cars but also the people who keep them alive. Owners and enthusiasts play a vital role in preserving Alfa Romeo’s heritage, sharing knowledge and ensuring older models remain on the road. The Club itself has been active since 1973, when 63 Alfisti gathered in Johannesburg to form ARCSA. Today, it counts around 220 members and is recognised in Alfa Romeo’s official global directory of approved clubs, linking South African enthusiasts to a worldwide network.

From Milan’s origins in 1910 to victories in the Targa Florio and the enduring symbols of the badge, Alfa Romeo’s story is one of heritage kept in motion. The Concorso brings that history together in one place, offering members and the public the chance to enjoy a field full of Alfas while celebrating more than a century of Italian automotive artistry.
