One such example is Zido Cars in the East Rand led by husband-and-wife CEOs Zaahid Hajat and Yasmeen Mayet. Zido Cars has grown into a recognised name within the pre-owned vehicle sector. In the dealership group’s latest move it has partnered with LDV South Africa and marks an important step as the business expands into the new vehicle market.
The partnership represents more than simply adding another brand to the showroom floor. For the Zido Cars team, it reflects a commitment to offering South African motorists greater choice while continuing to adapt to the changing demands of the industry, representative of Zido tells Dealerfloor.
“Over the years, Zido Cars has established itself by focusing on accessibility, customer relationships, and practical vehicle solutions for a wide range of buyers. From first-time car owners to growing families and business operators, the dealership has built its reputation around understanding the needs of everyday South Africans,” it states.

Behind the business is a leadership team that has remained closely involved in the dealership’s operations and long-term direction. What began as a vision between Zaahid Hajat and Yasmeen Mayet has developed into a multi-branch operation that continues to create opportunities within the automotive space.
Currently Zido Cars have three branches – Apex (Benoni), Benoni (Head office) and now also LDV and a dealership in Boksburg.
A key figure in the dealership’s latest chapter is Zunaid Teladia, who has played an important role in positioning the dealership within the LDV network.
Among the standout additions to the showroom is the LDV Terron 9, a premium bakkie, the new LDV D90, a large SUV, alongside these flagship models, the LDV range offers a variety of passenger and commercial vehicles suited.
Zido Cars say for the group, the partnership reflects a business that continues to evolve while remaining grounded in the relationships, values, and ambition that helped establish its name within the industry.
